This room contains pieces drawn from my experiences at Health Decisions. It offers practical advice for anyone involved in managing group health plan expenses.
From the present, this room contains articles and reports by others that I wanted to share. Reasons for sharing will vary, so expect a potpourri.
This room provides reference points and norms I have observed or documented that can be used by persons trying to get their bearings in the often confusing world of group health.
This room contains my views on the future of the US health care system. My intent is not to convince anyone, but to broaden the discussion beyond the political debate that passes for health reform in America.
This room contains recordings and trasncripts of conversations I've had with interesting people I have had the privilege of meeting. Some are friends, some professional acquantances; all have interesting perspectives worth sharing.

Si Nahra, President of Health Decisions, Inc. has three authentic Chinese scrolls hanging in his office. Each represents one of the principles of our organization. It's one way he reinforces the principles that have guided our business over the last 25 years.

We strive to maintain these three principles when supporting self-funded plans and their consultants.

1. Respect for Existing Procedures: Health Decisions respects that companies manage health benefits the way they do for a reason.  We respect that.  Our services build on what is in place.  We use existing data available to any self-funded plan -- no new data collection or programming required.  We point out what is working well and pinpoint ways to save money without changing coverage.

2. Emphasis on Customization: Each client is a case of one.  Each wants something special.  At Health Decisions we embrace these differences as opportunities to improve the value of our services.  We offer clients customization opportunities throughout our process.

3. Focus on Solutions: For us, it is not enough to just point out savings opportunities.  We stay involved to get those savings and then go the final mile to address root causes.
