Si describes himself as a “data nerd with a flair for the practical.” He lives and breathes health data asset development, health data mining, group health claims and enrollment auditing. For more than four decades, he has immersed himself in the U.S. healthcare system, specializing in the group health market for the past 25 years.
In 1985, Si founded Health Decisions, a company that has led the market in auditing innovations with its introduction of enrollment auditing 15 years before the process was generally adopted as a part of benefits auditing. Health Decisions was one of the earliest adopters of 100% claim audits using data mining technologies. The company develops new audit modules each year and its software continues to set new audit performance standards.
Si also shares his expertise through writing (in books and blogs, including "Si's Library"), speaking (at conferences), training, and educational webinars.
And when he’s not thinking about data, he’s thinking about his awesome family — wife, Judy, and kids, Charlie and Sandy. If there’s any time left to ponder other thoughts, well, they’d be about his beloved alma mater, Michigan State University and Spartan sports. Si holds a doctorate degree in Political Science and an MA in Public Administration from Michigan State University. He also earned a BA in Government from Colby College.
