A recent article from Business Insurance reveals a lack of communication between employers and employees regarding health benefits. Although almost 50% of employers feel they explain changes in health benefits adequately, many employees claim they are not aware of these changes.

Si Nahra, President of Health Decisions, appreciates how this article highlights proper health benefits enrollment communication: “The interest I have in this article is that it points to the need for two-way communication with employees.  Even something as simple as open enrollment can benefit from this type of communication.”

According to Si, “Two-way employee communication is what we do in our enrollment surveys now.  These same techniques can be used to engage employees across a variety of topics as part of a year-round employee communications plan that uses mail, e-mail, web, and phone like we do.”
